The Department of Statistics was established in the year 1977. Dr. K. M. Apte was the founder head of the department. Currently, Mrs. Pallavi Rege is the department head. There are four faculty members in the department.
The department offers Statistics at UG level for B.Sc. The department has well equipped classroom. Apart from this, the department library has fairly rich collection of books.

National Statistics Day

The department of Statistics celebrated 'National Statistics Day' on 29th June 2024 on the occasion of birth anniversary of Prof. P. C. Mahalanobis. The event was organized by the Third-Year students. The Second-Year students and Ex-students also participated actively. Celebrations included fun activities to encourage people to get involved and learn about statistics.
