Botany MSI National Webinar 1

It was organised under the theme of Awareness of trends in technology. The objective of holding the webinar series was to inspire the student community and teachers fraternity for Mycology research. Number of Participants: 138 Department of Botany organised a National Webinar on Prospects of culture collections in research and developments with special reference to NFCCI, in association with Mycolgical Society of India, (Mumbai Unit). It was held online through MS Teams platform on Saturday, 29th August 2020 from 4.00pm to 5.30pm. Eminent research scientist, Dr. S. K. Singh, Scientist F, Biodiversity and Paleobiology Department, Agharkar Research Institute, Pune, was invited as the guest speaker.

Dancer to Performer

25th August 2020, Cultural Activity Association

The Cultural Association of SIES College of Arts, Science and Commerce hosted their second event ‘Dancer to Performer’ for the year 2020 on the 25th of August. The event was an online dance workshop with the objective to train an individual and build within them the capability for a stage performance. Event flow and the PR strategies were planned in the committee meetings led by Ms. Kavya Pillai the Cultural Secretary and it was decided that the workshop would be conducted on the Zoom App. The sum total of twenty participants turned out for the event which was also attended by professors Ms. Devi Dinesh and Anoop Varghese. The workshop started at 2:00 pm led by Mr. Amit Damania from ‘Danzasters Academy’ and was conducted in 3 different parts. The participants were trained in a step-by-step manner and also their queries and requests were addressed at the end. Before concluding the meeting the Cultural Secretary thanked Mr. Amit Damania for his generous contribution and also announced the openings of the cultural clubs for the year 2020-21.

The main aim of this event was to make young minds active and encourage them to get started with their entrepreneurial journey. ▪ The whole event revolves around the concept of initiating. Providing a unique driving force to initiate the first step to the audience was another aim of this event which was successfully accomplished.

Inside NMR spectroscopy

In order to emphasize the Golden Jubilee celebration of SIES College of Arts, Science & Commerce ( Autonomous) , Department of Chemistry organised a Webinar on Inside NMR spectroscopy - A popular science Lecture by Indian Women Scientists Association supported by BRNS-DAE on Wednesday , 5th August 2020 at 3 p.m. via MS- Teams platform. The Webinar was open for Professors, teachers, research scholars , post graduate students and degree college students. A total of 351 participants registered from 45 different institutes.
