• The English Association, under the Film Appreciation Society, screened its first movie, ‘Omkara’ directed by Vishal Bharadwaj, which is an Indian adaptation of Shakespeare’s Tragedy “Othello”, on 29th July 2019. Several other movies like ‘Fantastic Mr. Fox’, ‘Court’, ‘Emma’, ‘Dance like a Man’, ‘Jaane bhi do Yaaro’, and ‘Under the Shadow’ were also screened which were followed by extensive discussion amid the students

SAMEER (Society for Applied Microwave Electronics Engineering and Research) is set up as an autonomous R & D laboratory at Mumbai under the then Department of Electronics, Government of India with a broad mandate to undertake R & D work in the areas of Microwave Engineering and Electromagnetic Engineering Technology. It is an offshoot of the special microwave products unit (SMPU) set up in 1977 at the TATA INSTITUTE OF FUNDAMENTAL RESEARCH (TIFR), Mumbai. SAMEER, Mumbai was setup in 1984. Dr. Abhay Deshpande is a scientist E from SAMEER working on thermionic source and LINAC for medical purpose.
Taiwanese dance workshop

Taiwanese dance workshop was conducted by Taiwanese dance performers for SIES college students to teach them about the Taiwanese culture. The event started with the trainers introducing themselves and playing a video that showed the Taiwanese dance form being performed by them and their school of dance. While the video played the trainers took turns in explaining the different dance positions, their importance and meaning to the students and professors This was followed by a warmup session that invited the students and interested professors to do some stretching exercises prior to the dance session.

This was a cultural program to celebrate the occasion of Aashadi Ekadashi. Shree Vikas Gokhale delivered a 'Pravachan (speech typically related to God)' he extensively spoke about the ' Ahankara- An Enemy' . He spoke about a very important topic, giving simple examples. He rightly pointed out that the Ahankara was always punished if any of the religious text was consulted.
A few teachers also participated enthusiastically singing various Abhangas (devotional songs). Around 60 students attended the program.

Bridge course for TYBCom students who have opted for the subject

It was observed that most of the students who have opted for the course of Computer Systems and Applications were not well conversant with basic keyboard handling which was resulting in loss of time and efficiency. Hence it was deemed necessary to teach keyboard handling to the students before commencement of actual practical sessions (4th, 6th, 8th and 9th July, 2019)
