Pathways to develop Research Skills in Mathematics 05/03/22 This one day webinar was conducted under the RUSA Grant to bring together academicians, faculty involved in research or intend to do research and students with research aptitude and to nurture research aptitude by exchanging knowledge and ideas. National Mathematics Day Celebration 22/12/21 National Mathematics is celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary of Ramanujan, one of the greatest Indian Mathematicians. The session started with a brief description about the life of Ramanujan by Deep Bhavesh Padharia, a student of SYBSc. This was followed by talk by the resource person, Anoop Skaria Varghese. The title of the talk was ‘Mystical Numbers’. The talk was based on introduction to certain numbers of special form like Mersenne Numbers, Fermat Numbers, Perfect Numbers, Amicable Numbers, etc. and their applications. Design and Presentation of a Poster 29/10/21 The objective of this online workshop was to equip students with effective poster presentation skills. The resource person, Dr. Vidhya Satish, Director, SIES Institute of Early Childhood Care Education, Sion west, through her presentation described the Dos and Donts of making a good poster. Data Science 23/12/19 One of the speakers of the event was Mr. Jasraj Date, our alumni and a Data scientist at Emotix who gave the audience a glimpse of his journey from being a Mathematics student in SIES to being a Data scientist. Talk on 'Fascinating Primes-An Order in their Disorder!' 27/07/15 This talk was delivered by Dr. V. V. Hemasundar, Associate Professor of Mathematics at SIWS College who is actively involved in research in the area of Real and Complex Analysis.
