SIES Skyline started a video series called ‘Around SIES’ on its YouTube channel, where we interview the ‘Humans of SIES’, on 5th Nov, 2019. Our pilot episode was with Dr Uma Shankar, the Principal and Chairperson of Skyline. In the interview, the Principal spoke about the student culture of SIES and also the future prospects the college has for its students. Stay tuned for more such interviews with the alumni, the teachers and the students of SIES.
A field visit was organised for TYBA Psychology Students to Manobal, Jalgaon. In Manobal various projects are run for orphans, physically disabled etc. That is not only a home but serves as a learning centre for various exams. Students from there have cleared various competitive exams, bank exams etc. Students also visited Gandhi Tirth, to know more about Mahatma Gandhi,
TYBSC students participated in a workshop on ‘Chromatographic techniques’ organized at Institute of Chromatography, SIES, Nerul held on 7th, 8th and 11th November, 2019.

• An Industrial cum educational trip to Udaipur and Jodhpur was arranged. Third year students were taken to the marble industry and a bus manufacturing unit from 12th November to 16th November.

Organised a study tour of TYBA Politics students at Raigad, Dapoli and Mangaon on 14th-17th November 2019. The tour included: Visit to the Raigad Fort Visit and stay at Loksadhana Project (run by Dr.Raja Dandekar and Renu Dandekar working for Child Education and local employability) in Dapoli Visit to AAKAR Pot Art in Indapur
In continuation to the Crithink workshop, under Nirmiti Kendra, funded by RUSA, The Art of Reasoning and Critical Thinking, 30 hours workshop commenced on 18th November 2019. The Resource Person Mr. Peter Akbar, Founder and Chief Instructor at Logos Inc., engaged an activity based program that enabled the student participants to learn the significance of critical thinking in personal and professional life.

A creative writing workshop titled ‘Murder Mystery Mantras’ was conducted by the novelist Mr. Salil Desai, on 20th November 2019. Mr. Desai interacted with the students and spoke about the features of a Mystery Novel as well as the process of writing one.
The Department of Philosophy organised a Two Day Workshop on ‘Self Awareness – Through Music, Art & Drama’ on 21st - 22nd November, 2019. The resource person was by Ms Amishi Seth, an author, playwright, screenwriter and director. The workshop aimed to raise self-awareness among participants by means of performing arts.
The BMM Department of SIES College of Arts, Science and Commerce organized an industrial visit to Mahabaleshwar-Pune for FYBAMMC students from 24th to 26th November, 2019. The visit covered two major industries, Mapro production and sales distribution outlet and Lokmat printing press under the guidance of Faculty- Ms. Amanjeet Kaur, Ms. Ruchita Karmokar. The students were shown a documentary on the making and selling of jams and jellies respectively. In Pune they visited the Lokmat printing press and observed the working of the newspaper agency and printing of newspapers correspondingly.
The Department of Philosophy organised a Two Day Workshop on ‘Effective Communication’ on 24th -25th November, 2019. The objective of the workshop was to enable the participants in communicating their thoughts in a clear way through rational thinking. The resource person was Ms. Amishi Seth - Author, Playwright, Director & Screenwriter.

Lung Cancer Awareness Drive through Street Play in association with D.S. Research Centre outside Kamarajar Memorial English High School, Dharavi.
15 Students of T.Y.B.Sc visited the “Advanced Centre for Treatment, Research & Education of Cancer†(ACTREC) on the 27th Nov 2019.
Ms. Indu Nair, an alumnus interacted with the present TYBA Philosophy students to guide them in their academic and extra curricular endeavours.
The auditions for the alumni and students was held as an elimination round for the event, 'In Memoriam '. The judges were Sri Aditya Rajagopalan , Sri G.Krishnan , Dr. Lakshmi Muthukumar and Ms. Sudha B.
TYBSc students visited ACTREC, Kharghar on their Open day
One day visit to ACTREC; Students of TYBSc and MSc had a one day visit to the labs at ACTREC. Students had an oppurtunity to visit and nteract with the scientists at ACTREC.
• The Department of Biotechnology conducted a three day workshop on “‘Basic techniques for understanding epigenetics’ for the teachers from various colleges across Maharashtra. The workshop, held between and 28th and 30th November2019 was supported by the ‘Teachers training programme’ of the Lady Tata Memorial Trust. The department received Rs3, 21,000 towards conducting the workshop and purchasing equipments and reagents required for the same.
