Background: Veego Instrument Corporation is a renowned name in manufacturing high quality scientific equipments and devices which provide quality performance. Veego instruments are known for their precise control of parameters and long-term reliability. Veego Instruments are used in various QC and R&D laboratories of Pharmaceutical/ Chemical/ Food/ Petroleum/ Oil and other Industries. Department of Bioanalytical Sciences, SIES College started in August 2019 is an Interdisciplinary Science with syllabus especially catering to the current Pharmaceutical Industry needs. The curriculum of Bioanalytical Sciences consists of testing various parameters of pharmaceutical drugs using sophisticated scientific equipments. Objective: The objective of the Industrial Visit was to introduce students to how equipments /instruments are manufactured and the R&D effort put in the fabrication of these instruments. To make students understand the role of pre validation of the equipments so as to obtain precision in qualitative parameters. To introduce students Good Manufacturing Practices compliances. Impact: The Industry Visit was beneficial to the M.Sc part 1 students of Bioanalytical Sciences as they were able to observe manufacturing and the detailed effort put in designing the instruments they are going to use during their practicals. This Industrial visit was a step taken by the department of Bioanalytical Sciences so as to make the Students understand the various Good Manufacturing practice and Good Laboratory Practices an industry has to comply with and not merely learn in the curriculum.
SIES Skyline in association with the Value Lab held an online essay writing competition on 5th Sept, 2019. The topics given were ‘Earth 2050, Humanity, and Global Warming’. The essay was based on the value of the month – “responsibility”. The essay comprised of 350 words with a focus on the chosen theme. The winning article was published in Skyline Volume: 8 issue 1. The winners of this competition were awarded with certificates from Skyline.
The Department organised a Guest Talk on ‘Choiceless Awareness’ on 9th September, 2019. The resource person was Swami Chidananda, founder – FOWAI (Flame Of Who Am I).
Swami Chidananda founder of FOWAI (Flame of Who Am I) & an expert on J. Krishnamurthi’s philosophy, delivered a talk on ‘Choiceless Awareness’. Swami Chidananda brought out the importance of being 'completely aware in the present' to make rational choices in life.
A Digital Poster Making Competition on environmental issues of Amazon Forest Fire and Save Aarey to develop care and concern towards nature.
The Department of English screened the film "Court" in order to sensitize the students on injustices meted out to the underprivileged on 11th September 2019 under the aegis of its film club.
Blood Donation Drive was organised by the NSS Unit in the College premises in association with Sion Hospital Blood Bank and successfully collected 142 units of blood from donors.
The Commerce Association organised The Ad Mad Show, an intra-collegiate advertisement making competition to test creativity, pursuance, presentation and marketing skills of participants.
Ms. Anuya Dharap organized the movie screening of the film " Chalk and Duster" to celebrate teacher's day. The movie covers various aspects of the academic life , some of them are teacher student relationship, including the communication. Students enjoyed talking about the film since it deals with their own concerns, they expressed that there was a need for these kinds of activities in the college. Approximately 70 students attended it.
SIES Skyline in association with Arena Animation held a seminar on ‘Brand and Media Awareness’ on 16th Sept, 2019. It was attended by 110+ students. The event covered the essentials about the rising potential of graphic designing and VFX as a career. The students participated in a live workshop where they learned how basic animation works. The event ended on a high note with a lucky draw where 3 students were awarded with free courses in animation. All the participants were given goodie bags by Arena Animation.
As part of the Career Goal Week, Mr. Murali Subramanian, CEO, Encore Concepts and Consultancy Pvt. Ltd, conducted a workshop on Goal setting for our TYBA students .
• The Department of English organised a Career Goals Week, which consisted of three events for the students of TYBA English Literature. The first event was a talk on ‘Importance of Goal Setting ‘conducted by an eminent motivational speaker Mr. Murali Subramanian on 17th September 2019. The second event was a workshop on ‘Careers after MA Literature’ by Ms. Priya Suresh on 18th September 2019.The week ended with a session on ‘Career in Teaching after B.Ed.’, which was conducted by an SIES alumnus Miss. Jancy Dharmaraj on 19th September 2019.
As part of the Career Goal Week, our alumni, Ms. Priya Suresh, Batch of 1992, addressed our TYBA students on "Beyond Teaching as a career" on 18th September 2019.
The film adapted from Austen's novel Pride and Prejudice was screened on 19th September 2019 for the FYBA students.

SIES Skyline hosted its induction ceremony for the incoming team of editor-in-chief Garima Bhatt and her team on 21st Sept, 2019 in the college auditorium. The event was graced by Principal Dr Uma Shankar, Vice Principal Dr Satish Sarfare, Dr Lakshmi Muthukumar (HOD, English Department), Mrs Umadevi Kokku (HOD, BMS Department) and Mr Saravanan Nadar (Asst. Professor, BMS Department). This was followed by the Induction Ceremony where Badges and cards were presented to the incoming team. After this, the Principal along with other dignitaries unfurled the banner for the Issue launch. The launch of Volume 8: Issue 1 was indeed a successful step towards the upcoming milestones.

Apart from creating content for the Bimonthly newsletter, SIES Skyline also runs a biweekly blog. The blogs are released on Mondays and Thursdays of every week of the month. The blogs are written by students that are a part of team Skyline and also anyone interested from within SIES College, the content is then edited, proofread and posted by the Content Team of Skyline. The blog creates great engagement as the readers come across Book reviews, Movie reviews, Food reviews, Places to Visit, Political News that’s trending, among other such interesting topics. SIES Skyline has collaborated with Finception for their weekly newsletter Finshots. The subscriber gets a concise wrap up of the most important Business and Financial news of the week. About Finception: It is a Fintech startup that envisions to make financial news more accessible to the masses and is backed by Zerodha’s Fintech fund – Rainmatter. An initiative by the students of IIM Ahmedabad, the e-newsletter aims to provide their readers with precise and concise information that will not only keep them updated with the current financial affairs but also help them prepare for placement interviews, group discussions, and also entrance exams preparation (like CAT) by helping them polish their current affairs. In an effort to increase interaction with our audience online, SIES Skyline holds weekly polls on Sundays where the followers of the page can engage in some interesting polls. The topics include movies, politics, about Mumbai, etc. Such dynamic content created high amount of engagement of the Instagram platform which is good for the association’s social media presence.
