The Association organised "Game of Start-ups", an inter-collegiate event consisting of 8 participants to evaluate student’s ideas, potential and calibre for initiating and developing business proposal across various fields.
Two politico-literary events viz. ‘Weaving Narratives’ (Photo Story) and ‘Poetry & Politics’ (Slam Poetry) were convened under ‘Res Publica’. The theme was based on contemporary socio-political issues.
The Commerce Association organised "Bulls of Wall Street", an inter-collegiate investment game consisting of 16 teams to test the knowledge, skills and ability of participants pertaining to stock market, real estate, investment banking and commodities market.
Ludopoly -It's a fusion of ludo and monopoly. The event contains the basic functioning of both the nostalgic games with a twist which will challenge your Management and economical skills. Treasure Hunt scaled from Sion Circle to Dadar Circle. There was a slight twist in this compared to the regular Treasure hunt as we had added certain elements of Scavenger Hunt to this as well which tested multiple skills of the participants. Mock Stock is a toned-down version of the real stock market. It basically gave the gist of how various situations can affect the prices of the stocks, preparing the participants for the real world of stocks and commodities.
The annual Microbiology exhibition “Microexplore” was held on the 2nd Jan 2020, under the aegis of Utkarsh. A total of 26 exhibits were presented on various aspects of Microbiology. Our flagship events based on Microbiology were conducted, such as, Micro Art and Poster presentation were conducted besides some fun events like Taboo (Guess the microbiological word) and Treasure hunt, based on clues related to Microbiology. The event saw a foot fall of around 100 people in a span of a single day.
In the Pscy-fair exhibition, various stalls were set up like memory games, taboo, guess who (based on psychological principles). Open mic- Participants could sing, dance,enact for the event,the theme being expression of any emotion.
An excellent skit was presented by students on the topic of cloning. The actors received praise from audiences. The skit was thought provoking to the audiences.
SIES Skyline held the intercollegiate event ‘The Bollywood Brigade’ for Utkarsha on 2nd Jan, 2020. The event comprised of 3 rounds all checking your Bollywood knowledge. 1) The Bollywood Inquisition 2) Bollywood Atlas – Map marking 3) Story writing (Change the ending) & Just-A-Minute. The event was judged by S. Ramachandran, Media and Bollywood. The event saw 17 teams participating from colleges across Mumbai. The winners were awarded with certificates and gift bags. Mr. Ramachandran was presented with a citation and a Thank You gift bag. The event saw special jamming session by Bijoy and his group, mimicry by Fareha Kazi and a filmy performance by our judge – Mr. Ramchandran.
Intercollegiate festival ‘OPERON’ was conducted under the aegis of Utkarsha which saw a participation of around 500 students across Mumbai
Picture saga was an event conducted for photography mavens under the categories namely; usage of mobile camera and DSLR for shooting and knitting a picturesque story on the themes given to the participants. Subsequently, the theme with the best click and storytelling won the hearts of judges and the audiences. On the other hand, the creative minds crafted an event called Decode the Fog, a game event, under the department of Mass Media. The event consisted of a mind-boggling session where the contestants guessed the price of antique materials, they guessed the brands of the taglines given to them and as tie-breaker the team had to decode Hindi songs which were translated in English. The events were a blend of the mass media education with a fun filled daybreak on the campus in turn.
The Philosophy Association organised ‘Thinkers’ Labyrinth’- a value-oriented game during Utkarsha, as part of the Literary Fest on 2nd January, 2020.
The Department of Biochemistry celebrated the fifth birthday of its very own event DE NOVO this year. DE NOVO, a celebration of creativity and knowledge has always been organized under the banner of UTKARSH, the college festival. The festival was a one and half day affair. It was an event by the students, of the students and for the students conducted on 3rd and 4th January 2020.
Hostile Takeover contained 3 rounds. With the help of an interesting game, the participants were given a chance to collect money with which they were accordingly able to bid for and buy a company post which each team was given certain hurdles and situations, whose answers affected the company's net worth and also depended on whether they took over another company or lost theirs to someone else. Dynasty gave the participants a chance to physically build their empire in the form of Jenga blocks. Just like reality, they had hurdles and obstacles to overcome, which then decided on whether their empires flourished or fell apart.
As a part of Utkarsha half story was presented to the students and they had to creatively complete the story.
HACCP is used primarily in every sector of food manufacturing and processing industry. This program aims at understanding the purpose, guidelines for application of HACCP Principles. Developing HACCP plan, assembling the HACCP Team, Implementation and maintenance of HACCP Plan. Understanding the legal implication, statutory requirement and benefits of HACCP compliance. General Sanitary & Hygiene Practices to be followed by Food Business Operators and GMP/GHP.

Ms. Vrushali Gupte, from Philosophy Department was the resource person. She addressed the topic on Motivation comparing Indian and Western scenario keeping in the background the Indian Philosophical values and concepts
Students of TYBSc visited Radiation Medicine Centre, TMH and observed various techniques such as Radioimmunoasay, PCR, ELISA to name a few
Dr. Kamala Srinivas from Philosophy Dept. was the resource person for the talk. She spoke majorly on emotions and attitudes at the workplace (considering ndian Ethos) comparing the Indian scenario with western scenario.
The QKnit in collaboration with the Department of Mass Media organised one day youth festival in SIES College, Room No. 29 on 11th January, 2020. The Fest was conducted with the objective of spreading awareness on the Gender Sensitization for youth across gender spectrum. BMM students volunteered and also few students participated in the competitions. In addition, Ms. Kavya Pillai won the story telling competition, alongside Ms. Miura Bijoy bagged the third prize in poetry writing and recitation competition respectively. SIES mass media department was promotions, media and venue partner in association. The event was embarked under Queer Azaadi Mumbai Pride Calender 2020.

As a prelude to ‘Ba Bapu Bagh’ organized display and sale of Khadi items (Bazaar) by KVIC and books by Sarvodaya Book Store.
Lakshya Daayitva, an annual inter-collegiate festival with the theme “Daayitva” meaning responsibility where 15 Colleges across Mumbai participated. The event comprised of various competitions such as street play, poster making, mono acting, socio-cultural dance performance, etc. in the College premises on 13th and 14th January 2020.
A fermented food festival “Food Mania” was held on 14th Jan 2020, showcasing the use of different microorganisms in the preparation of food. Food was kept for tasting as well.
Organized a guest lecture on “A History of Race & Affirmative Action in the United States” by Christopher Grossman, Chief of Political and Economic Affairs at the US Consulate General, Mumbai. Mr. Grossman spoke about the history and evolution of race relations in the US in contemporary times.

Departments of English, Philosophy & Politics jointly organised a workshop on Research Methodology covering aspects of qualitative and quantitative methods of research in social sciences.
A fund raising activity with different stalls, gaming stalls (dobble), eating stalls etc. Students and staff members contributed books and objects like jewellery, purses etc and this was been purchased by the college students and faculties. The fund was donated to Deepstambh Foundation, Jalgaon.
Screening of a comdey marathi act was done followed by discussion.
• The Department of English in association with the Departments of Politics and Philosophy organized a one day workshop on Research Methodology on 27th January 2020.
The Centennial Trinity of ‘Ba Bapu Bagh’ a three day mega students’ activity comprising of Students’ Symposium, Panel Discussion, Skit, Dance Ballet, Jallianwala Baugh Exhibits under the aegis of Partition Museum, Amritsar and The Art and Cultural Heritage Trust, New Delhi, jointly organized by SIES College, SIES Past Students’ Association and G.N. Khalsa College.
