    Organising a workshop to sensitive students with political and editorial cartoons and caricatures as powerful forms of artistic and intellectual expression essentially realising values of freedom, rights, democracy, resistance and dissent. The workshop was facilitated by Mr. Prashant Kulkarni who has been drawing cartoons for over a span of 30 years. He is prominently a political cartoonist and comments upon various social issues and concerns through his art. He currently works as an editorial cartoonist for Loksatta.

Two Alumni from the department were invited to deliver the keynote address. Students of Elphinstone College won the LATE DR. RAJALAKSHMI AMUDAN award for the best poster
