Dept. Of Philosophy and Political Science organized a visit to Ralegaon Siddhi and Hivre Bazar, Ahmednagar, Maharashtra to give the students hands on experience and sensitize them with projects adopted in villages that stands as an example for global reputation. 14students and 5 staff members visited the place and it was indeed an Enlightening and inspiring experience.
Conducted field visits for the TYBA (Politics) to Ralegan Siddhi and Hiware Bazaar in Ahmednagar district on 12th-13th September 2016. The purpose of the visit was to acquaint students to the alternative models of development in Maharashtra.

As a part of Utkarsha-2016-17 Psychology Association organized Psychology-related exhibition named ‘Psyched-up’. An inter-collegiate financial quiz conducted during Utkarsha 2016-17 to keep students abreast about recent happenings in finance, tax and other related aspects across the globe.
Under the college literary and fine arts festival, ‘ Utkaarsh- 2016-2017’ , the association organized ‘ Khel Shabdancha -one minute wisdom’ competition. The event comprised of on the spot, extempore elocution on a topic of current social relevance. Participants were given one minute to express themselves and were judged on different dimensions like presentation, voice modulation etc. 30 students from both junior and degree college participated. Ms. Geeta Paluskar (Faculty, Mathematics Department, Degree college) and Mr. Santosh Nar (Faculty, Mathematics Department, Junior college) were the judges. Rushika Jadhav( FYJC, Science) bagged the first prize whereas Janhvi Parab got the second prize.

Departmental Botany festival – ‘Kalpavriksha’ was organized on 19th & 20th September 2016 during Utkarsha. In this festival, competitions such as paper quilling jewellery, biorangoli, Pehchan kaun?, Essay writing and Bio-games like ‘Selfie hunt’, ‘Poke hunt’, ‘Sense your senses’ were arranged. Exhibition cum sale of Book marks, envelopes, greeting cards, chocolates, nursery plants, etc. was also organized. During Kalpavriksha, the students got platform to show their skills and creativity. The festival was attended by more than 150 students.

As a part of Uttakarsha literary festival - Quiz competition was organized on theory, concepts and current affairs related to economics.
Volunteers performed 2 street-plays in the college to create awareness on Women Empowerment and against AIDS. College youth was sensitized about Aids and Women empowerment.
In association with Khula Asmaan, NSS unit organized Papier Mache Workshop. Volunteers learnt technique of article preparations by using ecofriendly material – ‘Papier Mache’.
Poster making competition was conducted on the topic ‘Save Electricity’. Posters displayed by the volunteers helped to sensitize and educate college youth about saving electricity.

Hindi essay writing competition was organized, 17 Students have participated in the competition .
Stat-o-mania : Triquest was conducted during Utkarsha 16-17. It consisted of three sub events: 1. Taboo with a twist:The participants were shown different pictures and asked to find out the statistical word describing the pictures. 2. Data analysis:The participants were made to solve basic multiple choice questions which were solved using their basic statistical knowledge and logical thinking. 3 Guess the word:The participants were made to hear songs and guess the statistical word hidden in the song. There were a total of 42 participants.

As a part of literary festival Utkarsha, on 20th September 2016, TYBA Psychology students conducted an Awareness Campaign on addiction to online games and social networking sites. This campaign was presented to Std VIII students of D. S. High School, Sion (W). Psychology students, in the form of a short skit, gave information about overuse and misuse of online games and social networking sites, their ill effects etc.

‘Chai pe charcha’- an extempore discussion was arranged as an Intellectual and cultural debate cum discussion suggesting solutions to current social issues.12 students participated in the interactive discussion, putting forth their view and answering questions of the audiences pertaining to the topic at discussion.
‘Symphony of lyrics and scenes’, a game where students interpreted lyrics and scenes with music. Creativity and thinking out of box was the objective of the game. there were 8 teams comprising of 2 participants each.

36 volunteers were trained for the Pulse Polio Drive.
Senior experienced volunteers gave a talk on Foundation, History and Importance of NSS. A board was also put up and everybody were told to give their opinion on What changes do they want to see in the society. 100 Newly joined volunteers were educated about Foundation, History and Importance of NSS.
Polio doses were given to the children from the age of 0 to 5 at Sion, Matunga & Dadar Station. NSS volunteers also went from door to door to give the polio doses. More than 1000 children were benefitted from this drive.

The talk was followed with an interactive session. Around 50 students participated in the program.
