About Us:
The Department of English has been a cornerstone of the institution's academic excellence since 1960. Stalwarts like Vinda Karandikar, Vilas Sarang, R. Parthasarathy among others have contributed to its legacy. The Department now has a rich research culture and boasts of a strong student enrolment.

Our Team:
The Department has three full-time staff viz. Prof. Dr Lakshmi Muthukumar and two Assistant Professors, Dr Seema C. and Ms. Vidya Hariharan.

Programs Offered:
The Department offers undergraduate BA program in English with courses in Indian English Literature, British Literature, American Literature, Literature and Gender, Grammar and Art of Writing among others. https://siesascs.edu.in/academics/courses.php#ug We have a Ph.D. Centre with research scholars working on emerging areas of research and also offer Value Added and Certificate Courses such as Social Media Management, Poetry Appreciation and training in IELTS.
