Bioinformatics is an integrative field in life sciences that combines biology and information technology. Being a combination of different branches of life sciences, the field employs methodologies and tools to study large volumes of biological data (genomic, RNA, protein, etc) in order to organize, store, systematize, visualize, annotate, query, understand and interpret those data. This workshop had 30 participants with a science background at HSC level and comprised of 8 lecture series distributed across February-March on Saturdays and Sundays.
Department of Botany organized online celebration of Departmental festival - ‘Kalpavriksha’ on 15th February 2022. It was held through MS Teams platform. The Department of Botany organized career guidance lecture entitled ‘Career Prospects in Botany’ for FYBSc, SYBSc and TYBSc Botany students on Tuesday, 15th February 2022 at 11.00am through hybrid mode. It was delivered by Dr. Mahavir Gosavi. He was assisted by Mrs. Ashwini Deshpande, Dr. Neeraja Tutakne and Dr. V. Vishnuprasad. The students were given clear picture about future scope of botany in career management as well as in higher studies in India and abroad.
The Department of Botany organized guidance lecture on competitive exams like NET, SET, PET, GATE, etc. for Postgraduate Botany students on Wednesday, 16 th February 2022 at 11.00am through hybrid mode. It was delivered by Dr. Mahavir Gosavi. He was assisted by Ms. Snehal Unde and Mrs. Sakshi.
An interactive and informative session for budding entrepreneurs followed by business idea pitching competition
On 24th February 2022 as part of Utkarsha, two events were organized by TYBSc Students. They were “Unlock the Doc”& “Shark Tank”. Unlock the Doc: It was a treasure hunt where 6 p.d.f. files were shared where one had to find clues in one file to open the next one. The Team which could unlock all 6 files first were declared winners. The clues were based on general knowledge and logical thinking. A total of 17 teams participated for the event each having two participants. Top 3 winning teams were: First Prize: Nusrat & Palak Second Prize: Celine & Ishika Third Prize: Sharanya & Shreya Shark Tank: The event is inspired by the famous TV show “Shark Tank India”. The participants were the entrepreneurs who had to pitch their business model to the investors, also called as the ‘Sharks’. The entrepreneurs then asked for some amount and in exchange offered some percentage of equity to the investors. On the basis of prospects of profitability and the idea’s vigour, the ‘Sharks’ countered the offer. Seven teams participated in the event; each team having two participants. The winning teams were: First Prize: Gayathri Rai and Karthik Shetty Second Prize: Vaishnavi Deore and Deep Padharia
Science association organized QFIESTA-2022 on 25th February 2022 at 9.00am on MS TEAMS platform. QFIESTA-2022: A theme-based quiz on general science was organized. A total 77 student were registered from various colleges, 27 participated in the quiz.

Objectives of the program: 1. To explain, how to manage home kitchen-waste. 2. To understand risk of waste and its effect on human health. 3. To explain how to protect Vasundhara and Nature.
During the pandemic in the year 2021-2022department of Chemistry in association with science association had organized Guest Lecture of Padamshree, Dr. Sharad Kale Ex. Head of Technology Transfer and collaboration, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), Mumbai via online platform for the celebration of National Science Day.
