    ▪ Students Professional Development Conference 5.0 Breakthrough to Excellence is the biggest Inter-College Conference, which is similar to TEDx wherein we nominate various leaders from different careers to be our honorary guests and inspire our students. ▪ Through SPDC we try to make the students aware of what careers are available in today’s day and what all options they have to choose from. ▪ The Second Speaker for the day was Dr. Mekhala Bawsay, a fashion and lifestyle influencer, entrepreneur and an MBA student currently nominated in the best fashion and lifestyle influencer of DGLITZ magazine.

    Department of Botany organised an International Webinar on “Molecular communication across the fungus – host interface” in association with Mycolgical Society of India, (Mumbai Unit). It was held online through MS Teams platform on Sunday, 7th February 2021 from 2.00pm to 3.30pm. Eminent mycologist, Dr. Naweed Naqvi, Temasek Senior investigator and Professor (Adj.), Temasek Life Science Laboratory, 1 Research Link, NUS, Singapore accepted the invite to be the guest speaker.

    As a part of UTKARSHA, the academic Festival, History, Philosophy and Economics Department jointly organized a Workshop. This workshop was all about business/start up ideas and how to work on them. Mr. Prabhu Swaminathan – Founder of AFMOI, LAFORS Talent Solutions India Pvt. Ltd, g gave students, an insight into the corporate world. His ideologies, formulas for a successful start-up were very outstanding and knowledgeable.

    Department of Philosophy, History and Economics cooperatively organized a digital workshop as part of the intra-collegiate Fest UTKARSHA 2021. This workshop was all about business/start up ideas and how to work on them. The workshop was conducted on MS. Teams. The resource person took over the workshop and gave an insight into the corporate world. He then proceeded with explaining the underlying principles. His way of giving examples and placing questions in front of the students was liked by everyone. Students enthusiastically answered his questions. The ‘Soft skills’ gave us an idea as to how creativity is the key to stand out and be unique. Moving ahead he threw light on ‘Mental blocks’ which are the barriers to be creative. His personal experiences added a special touch to the workshop. His ideologies, formulas for a successful start-up were very outstanding and knowledgeable. After his wonderful explanation, a Q/A session was open to all

    Title: An Insight into NET/SET Preparation Objective: Guidance to NET/SET aspirants of Degree College Methodology: Online Symposium Report: On 24th March 2021, a symposium was held for the students of Third Year who were interested in pursuing teaching and applying for NET/SET exams. The guest speaker- Ms Pranali Kadam, a copy editor and doctoral candidate, guided the attendees on the topic and also provided them with exclusive study material for the same. Outcome: The students gained an insight into preparation for NET/SET examination Attendees: 18 Title: Discover Your Calling- a 5 –Day symposium about Careers and Courses after TY Objective: To give students an idea about the various careers options that are available to them after TYBA Methodology: A 5 –Day online symposium Report: From 16th February to 20th February 2021, one week, several educational talks on a wide array of professional fields were organised by the Association. A total of ten speakers guided the students on what courses and paths to take after graduation and motivated them to discover their true callings. On 16th February, Ms Arushi Raj from Symbiosis University and Ms Janani Srinivas from the Department of Communication and Journalism threw light on the sectors of ‘Self-publication’ and ‘Journalism’ respectively. On 17th February, an alumna, Ms Diana Ignatius explained the ‘B.Ed.’ course, followed with a joint-session on the ‘Teacher Training course’ by Ms Rupal Vora and Ms Rashmi Pradhan. On 18th February, Ms Sreenandini Rajiv from Pune University, spoke on the domain of ‘Editing’. Later, Ms Huda Sayyed gave insight into the MA course at SNDT University. The sessions on 19th February covered topics on careers beyond Literature and Pedagogy, which were by Ms Priyal Gala on ‘Public Relations’ and Mr Saikumar Shanmugam on ‘Media and Direction’. The fifth and the final day of the career week was by Ms Nikshitha Raja, Project Management Junior at Group Lactalis Headquarters, France. She presented information on ‘Human Resources’ and ‘Resume building’ on 20th February. Attendees: 44 Each session ended with an interactive Q&A session with the students. Outcome: The students gained a clearer insight into all the career options that are available to them after TYBA.
